About the Role

Tranect Ltd is a specialist manufacturer of electrical components based in Liverpool and we are looking for practical, reliable and detail-orientated people to join our production team.

This is a hands-on, physical production role. Depending on the work being completed, you may be standing for much of the day, handling materials and components, operating machinery, carrying out repetitive assembly work or moving between different production processes.

You do not need to have experience with our products or machinery, as full training will be provided. What is more important to us is finding people with the right attitude, good practical ability and the awareness to recognise when something does not look right.

What the Job Involves

The role is varied and may include:

• Monitoring and tending manufacturing machinery
• Manual assembly of components
• Operating machinery and production equipment following training
• Measuring and checking components
• Working from drawings, specifications and work instructions
• Completing production and quality records via our digital production tool
• Handling and moving materials within the production area
• Carrying out repetitive production tasks where consistency is important
• Checking your own work before it moves to the next stage
• Supporting different production areas as workloads change

Physical Nature of the Role

Applicants should be aware that this is not a desk-based or purely supervisory machine-operating position.

The role can involve:

• Standing at production workstations for extended periods
• Regular movement around the production area
• Manual handling of materials and components
• Repetitive hand and assembly work
• Working with manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Tasks typically involve accurate placement, handling and assembly of components.
• Tasks involving the detailed manual assembly and accurate handling of small components.
• Appropriate equipment, training and safe working procedures are provided.

Experience and Skills we’re looking for:

Maths and English GCSE – C, Level 4 or equivalent are advantageous as this isn’t an exclusively push-button role. The ability to achieve various health and safety training certification, interpret work instructions, and check work to drawings are critical skills.

Previous experience in manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, assembly, warehousing, machine operation or a practical trade would be useful, but it is not essential. Our team is made up of a wide variety of backgrounds, and we are equally interested in people starting out in their careers and from other backgrounds who can demonstrate:

reliability, practical ability, attention to detail and the right attitude towards work.

Full training will be provided on our products, machinery and manufacturing processes.

• A Monday to Friday daytime working window 08:00-16:30 (40hrs per week for full-time contracts) 2 x 15-minute paid breaks + 1 x 30-minute unpaid break.

• For the right candidate we are happy to consider part-time contracts that sit within the standard full-time working window to accommodate school hours arrangements or other reduced-hours working patterns.
• Initial Pay review following completion of the induction period
• Overtime is available as required by business need at 1.5X rate following completion of 40hrs.
• 5% Employer contribution pension following completion of induction, with a matched employer pension contribution of up to 10% following 1 years completed service.
• 25 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays per year of which ‘X’ days per year is reserved for a close down between Christmas and New Year. (Pro rata for contracts under 40hrs per week)

We manufacture a wide range of products in-house using machinery, forming, assembly and specialist manufacturing processes.
